Description
The Planning Technician is responsible for customer service, receiving and addressing public inquiry by phone, email and in person regarding planning and development services and more broadly, services provided by the Municipality of Port Hope. The Planning Technician provides administrative and clerical support by assisting with Planning and Heritage Permit applications, developing and maintaining data management records and planning information systems, and fulfilling the mapping requirements of the department.
Qualifications:
- Post-secondary education in geographical information system (GIS) mapping, Urban and Regional Planning, Architectural Technology or a related field.
- One (1) or more years related work experience.
- Working knowledge of the Planning Act, Provincial Policy Statement, Ontario Heritage Act, Municipal Act and related legislation and regulations is preferred.
Employment Terms:
- Position: Full-time, Permanent
- Hours: Thirty-five (35) per week
- Compensation: $50,412 to $59,354 per annum
- Benefits: Group Health, Dental and Life Insurance benefit coverage after three months of employment. OMERS Pension Plan enrolment as of date of hire.
