Description
The Purchasing and Risk Management Coordinator is responsible for leading the purchasing process throughout the organization; coordinating risk management functions; managing the Municipal insurance portfolio; managing financial claims from the public, managing the security deposits for major works by third parties; and liability analysis for contaminated sites and asset retirement obligations.
Compensation
$64,320.54 - $75,729.44 per annum

Key Qualifications
- University degree in Accounting or related field.
- National Institute of Government Purchasing (NIGP) Certified Procurement Professional, or equivalent with Ontario Public Buyers Association (OPBA) training preferred.
- Certified Risk Management Designation or equivalent insurance and risk management accreditation preferred.
- Four (4) to five (5) years related experience working in Accounting, Purchasing, and/or Risk Management is required.
- Valid and Satisfactory Criminal Record and Judicial Matter Check.
Key Areas of Responsibility (View Attachedment for more details)
Purchasing
- Maintain a Municipal Purchasing Policy, bid request forms, templates, contracts and other supporting documents that are compliant with relevant legislation and aligned to industry best practices. Recommend changes to improve efficiency and value attainment through the procurement process in consultation with legal counsel, internal and external stakeholders.
Risk Management
- Responsible to lead the Municipal risk management and insurance program.
General
- Prepare all required documents for annual requirements, including but not limited to the external audit, for areas of responsibility and respond to any inquiries. Support continuous improvement, including recommending updates to policy and procedures to incorporate lean processes with adequate controls.
