Description

The Aquatic Instructor is responsible for teaching Red Cross Swim Kids and Preschool Swimming lessons while providing a safe, enjoyable, supervised environment for pool patrons at the Jack Burger Sports Complex through the implementation of front-line aquatic programming in compliance with HIGH FIVE® standards, the Ontario Health Regulations, Red Cross Water Safety Instructor and/or Life Saving Society Instructor Standards; and ensures compliance with all regulations pertaining to swimming pool operations at the Jack Burger Sports Complex.

The Lifeguard is responsible for providing a safe, enjoyable, supervised environment for pool patrons at the Jack Burger Sports Complex through the implementation of front-line aquatic programming in compliance with HIGH FIVE® standards, the Ontario Health Regulations, Red Cross and Life Saving Society protocols; and ensures compliance with all regulations pertaining to swimming pool operations at the Jack Burger Sports Complex.

Aquatic Instructor Qualifications:

  • Current certification in Red Cross Water Safety Instructor.
  • Standard First Aid, CPR “C” with AED.
  • HIGH FIVE ®: Principles of Health Child Development.

  • Lifesaving Instructor and National Lifeguard Service (NLS)qualifications preferred.

Aquatic Lifeguard Qualifications:

  • Current certification in National Lifeguard Service.
  • Standard First Aid, CPR “C” with AED.
  • HIGH FIVE ®: Principles of Healthy Child Development
  • Water Safety Instructor and Lifesaving Instructor qualifications preferred.
  • Experience as a Lifeguard preferred.

Employment Terms:

  • Hours: Varied Part-time, Monday through Friday, Availability during daytime operating hours required
  • Compensation: $16.59 per hour
