Summary of the Position:
The Roads Summer Student will assist employees with duties involving physical labour such as, but not limited to, ditch cleaning and cutting of grass, weed eating, cutting and trimming trees, preparing the ground and seeding grass, debris and garbage pick-up, loading and unloading vehicles, digging/shoveling, raking, moving materials and related activities.
The Summer Student will also assist with maintenance and repair of Roads Infrastructure such as, but not limited to, traffic control, bridge and sidewalk repair, street patching, road repair, jack-hammering, pot hole filling, installing and repairing signs and guide rails and related activities.
As well as assisting as required with administrative tasks which may include filing, cataloguing, sorting, data entry and related office work.
Valid and satisfactory ‘G’ driver’s license is an asset, but not a requirement.
